Drawing – The Plan

Not much time to spend on drawing this year and most of next until I get my Python Specialisation and Java training done.  For the second half of 2018 the plan is to step up the drawing and Data Science.

Feel like I’ve made some progress with my drawing over the past couple of years; albeit in piecemeal fashion, but looking at making a more concerted effort within the next year.

So the plan is to continue doing some sketching and make progress with the following training materials (strike-through when done) :

Get this training done (December 2018) and then time to start working on my personal projects in 2019.

Programming – The Plan

Currently working on course 5 (the final one) of the Python Specialisation on coursera. Aim to get this done by end of August 2017 and then focus on my Java Certification with the aim of completing during March 2018.  From April 2018 back to Python and Data science.

This all ties in with my learning path

Map it Out

  • Java -> Java Programming Certification  (complete March 2018) + Java in Work (To infinity and beyond!) + ‘Tech for Work’ Pluralsight channel (lunch-time learning)
  • Python Specialisation ->  Crash Course in Python -> Data Science (start April 2018)

Inspired by Luke

Birth of Luke gives me a whole new purpose.  He’s my inspiration to succeed in everything from work to my programming and drawing projects (and my golf – mission single figures – some day 🙂 ).

He inspires me to stay healthy so that I can cherish every moment and capture every milestone along the way

He inspires me to keep focus on what’s important and not waste the moment thinking about what was or worrying about what might be.

It starts with you Luke…let’s see how far we can go little man.

Drawing a Day – “Triss Merrigold”

‘Drawing a Day’ not quiet happening daily…but at least I did get some stippling and pointillism practice in today 🙂

Triss Merrigold from ‘The Witcher 3’.  Barely scratched the surface with this game and not likely I’ll have much to time to play it and when I do I’ll have forgotten the controls along with the story…RPGs not really the genre for dipping in and out of.   ‘Doom’ it is then…if only I could remember the controls!

Ambition – There are no limits!

I bought this (well my parents did) many moons ago as I really wanted to get into programming.   Code editors weren’t cheap (let alone free) in those days!

Programming and drawing have always been my passion but for one reason or another I never had the confidence or conviction to stick with them.

I am doing scripting now in my current job along with some Python programming so now at least I’m on the path where I’ve always aspired to be (along with drawing in my spare time)

Now I know I can do this and really no excuse any longer with IDEs and training resources being freely available.
